Recent accomplishments include providing input on the Housing Element update, resulting in the inclusion of stronger policies on affordable housing. Works closely with County staff to identify accessibility issues relating to County programs and services, and assists in making them fully accessible to individuals with disabilities. Their current focus includes homeless shelter access, voting equipment accessibility and providing input to the County Human Services Element update. The Programs & Services Access Subcommittee meets the 2nd Tuesday of the month, 5:30-7:00p.m. in Hearing Rm. 1, County Administration Center, 700 H Street.

The Physical Access Subcommittee’s purpose is to ensure that all County buildings, facilities, recreation areas, streets and sidewalks are accessible to individuals with disabilities. The Subcommittee is actively involved in developing and implementing the County’s ADA Transition Plan for Streets and Sidewalks, the Pedestrian Master Plan, and the County Facilities ADA Transition Plan.
